Faux Paint Finishing
Apply a base coat of paint and let it
dry. This can be done in a lighter color
or darker color than the top coat, your
choice!
Wearing latex gloves, bunch a plastic
grocery bag in your hand and press it
in the paint. The ridges will create a
pleasingly wrinkled pattern. Rearrange
the rag in your hand as you paint to
vary the finish.
Everything but the
kitchen sink?
Cleaning the sink may be a simple
task, but if your faucet's aerator is not
removable, it may seem impossible to
clean.
BUT! There is still a way to clean it.
Pour white vinegar into a sandwich
bag; then use a rubber band to secure
the bag around the spout.
Make sure the aerator is fully immersed
and keep the bag there overnight. You
can use this trick for a clogged shower
head as well.

Like a New Penny...
Soap residue can dull a floor no matter
how vigorously you mop. Add vinegar
to the rinse water to neutralize
lingering suds.
Neat Clothes!
If you want to keep clothes
uncluttered while hanging in your
closet, file tiny notches about 1 inch
apart in a wooden clothing rod; the
hangers won't slide together.
Debug House Plants
Press a garlic clove into the soil at the
root of your indoor house plants. This
will keep the bugs away, giving your
plants a longer, healthier life. Cut the
shoots back if the garlic sprouts.
